What do I wear for Pilates sessions?
Normally, first thing to be aware of is to wear a pair of non-slip socks for working out on Pilates equipments, for safety reasons. We suggest clients to wear sports outfits which are not too loose nor too tight in general, so you can move freely and observe your own movement more clearly while you move.
We would suggest wearing yoga pants or other exercise shorts which has no zipper attached. Avoid wearing jackets while using Pilates equipments.
Should I enroll in Group Classes or Private Classes?
This is one of the most frequently asked question, especially for those who are new to Pilates. There is not an absolute answer, and here is our suggestion:
If you are completely new to Pilates and is looking for a trial feeling and more fun, we would recommend you to book a group class so you can share the joy with other friends or other clients who attend the same group class. Instructors would provide general instructions for all, however, the attention time given to each client would be much less than in private sessions. Tactile cues given to each individual will also be much less than in a private Pilates session. However, it is still one of the most popular choice for those who are new to Pilates, as most Reformer Pilates exercises do help you to train up different parts of your body and tiny muscle groups in many ways.
Some beginners would also go for private sessions if they are looking for more ideas about their own body alignment, and a more exclusive experience; you also get to try more of the different pieces of Pilates equipment. You will also have more chance to chat with the instructor regarding your own lifestyle that relates to your daily movements, and get advices on how you can move more efficiently. With time, you also have a personal bonding with the instructor, who knows your body well, and they can then provide personalized training sessions that suits your current needs. As you slowly gain more experience in Pilates and progresses, the exercises that you need will also be slightly different from before. So it is an ongoing process.
How many equipments do you have in the studio and how large are your class sizes?
